The Open Beta is an opportunity for our community to learn about Tor VPN, provide feedback and help identify bugs while we continue to work towards a future stable release. The following goals are intended to help guide us in the overall planning of the beta period, however each team involved will naturally define their own team-specific objectives too.  ## Goals ### 1. Launch an Open Beta and recruit testers from our community - **O1.1:** Early adopters are aware of Tor VPN Beta, its use cases and features. - **O1.2:** Early adopters understand that the purpose of the Open Beta is for testing and feedback. - **O1.3:** Beta testers acknowledge the risks of their participation and the app's limitations while in beta. ### 2. Gradually scale the number of testers in a sustainable manner - **O2.1:** The number of new, always-on clients connecting to Tor scales gradually and does not overload the Tor network. - **O2.2:** Product Managers and Developers receive a manageable volume of bug reports that they are able to triage in good order. - **O2.3:** The quantity of additional user support requests we receive from beta testers is sustainable and does not exceed our capacity. ### 3. Respond to user feedback and iterate towards a future stable release - **O3.1:** Beta testers submit actionable bug reports through the correct channels when encountering issues. - **O3.2:** Developers continue to deploy bug fixes and other improvements in response to user feedback throughout the beta period. - **O3.4:** Beta testers receive and successfully install updates when new versions of the Tor VPN Beta are available.
