I suspect this is caused by patches to reduce timer precision. Please provide a pref or way to disable this behavior and obtain monotonically increasing time with full precision.
I understand the original reasons for the patch(es) in question, but the reduced precision is not good for all purposes.https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/tor-browser/-/issues/23464When I try to quit Tor browser alpha after I get the error "Tor exited during...2022-02-03T19:06:04ZTracWhen I try to quit Tor browser alpha after I get the error "Tor exited during startup" and try to quit it nothing happens.Open Tor browser stable and then open tor browser alpha, when The alpha opens it says that another tor process is running, click the OK button. My intention to be able to build `tor-browser-bundle` locally which I tried for some time and failed because of error which I hope will be brought to the attention of devs automatically rather than after painful reports.
The script currently uses Ubuntu 17.04 only, but since GitLab CI is based on Docker images, the number of possible OS to test on is basically infinite.

Sorry if this is a duplicate, I tried to give a look but didn't find anything.
And sorry for the weird title, couldn't find anything better...
I'm not sure exactly what happened, but here is, in order, what I did/saw:
- open tor browser (under debian stretch)
- open a few tabs
- "new identity"
- open some tabs
- "new identity"
- open some tabs
- close tor browser
- see a "new version available" window
- click on something like "yeay, let's upgrade" (maybe the upgrade *was done* and only a "restart" was expected)
- see tor browser starting and opening the tabs I had open some time ago (not the last "identity", but the first one)
VoilĂ .
I probably could give more details if needed.
Oh, also, I cannot say *when* that "Upgrade available" window appeared, I only saw it when I closed Tor Browser.
I think it's a privacy issue (the tabs are stored somewhere or whatever).
Thanks

Tor browser worked for two days and then began to crash immediately upon loading a clearnet web page. I could not get any of the Tor web site pages to load or the reddit site but I was able to get DDW and DDG clearnet pages to load.
This same issue initially occurred 6 days ago so I uninstalled Tor and reinstalled it. And as you can read from above, same behavior. I am running windows 10 pro, ipVanish, and Tor's bundle NoScript, HTTPS everywhere.
Just now I launched Tor browser again and was able to read Tor web site. i went to reddit and read several pages. Clicked on a link in the reddit thread to another reddit topic and Tor browser crashed.
I don't know what to do to get a usable version of Tor browser. I am using 7.0.6.
Thanks.

It would be good to automatically verify these areas of the code don't get out of sync. This could either be a post-hoc verifier, or a generator that takes a higher-level specification and generates both C and Rust types.
Ideally, the coupling between C and Rust will be as minimal as possible, so this probably does not need to be a heavyweight solution.Tor: unspecifiedhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/tor-browser/-/issues/24261Tor - Gah.
