So, we can add a link on the bottom navigation bar to access the translations for that particular page.
This will lead to better reviewed strings, and hopefully make them better. We will also need to respond quickly to the suggestions.
@gus says this will be used by a lot of people that complains about translations.

Many times we release translations because they are complete, but when we update the pages the translations get outdated and we end up having very few translations.
I think if we give other readers the opportunity to maintain the translation, we will have more contributors per language and we will make it easier for translators to make a good translation, as they will be able to go back and forth from the translation platform to the website.emmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/lego/-/issues/62Titles have hardcoded capitalization in https://www.torproject.org/is/releases/2023-11-09T18:58:07ZemmapeelTitles have hardcoded capitalization in https://www.torproject.org/is/releases/https://www.torproject.org/is/releases/ Title has a hardcoded capitaliation rule, so that the string that in weblate looks like: `Hvað er nýtt í Tor-vafranum` is shown as:

In transifex, you could setup a project in a way that you only add the original translation source, i.e. the English file, and transifex checked twice a day if that file changed, and updated it on its repository.
In this way, we didnt need to follow the changes in the whole repository, and we can have one branch on our translation repository with only the translations, and not the rest of the files on the repository that we dont really care about.
But in weblate there is no way to do that, so I should do a script that with a list of components in weblate/translation repo, for each component:
- Pulls the last commits from the component
- Checks if there have been changes on the source file
- If there are changes, presents them for review
- Updates this file on the translation repo, and pushes
And I should also have a configuration file with the different URLs per componentemmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/community/l10n/-/issues/40122Clean up tmx files in weblate2023-11-02T13:25:17ZemmapeelClean up tmx files in weblateWe have lots of memory files in weblate that need to be cleaned up. Many have English terms instead of translations, because of a limitation of some translation files (they cannot provide empty strigs), and so many memories are full of bad translations.
We should clean them up and reupload them, with a healthy translation memory we can improve our consistency and prevent common mistakes from appearing again.
In weblate: https://hosted.weblate.org/memory/project/tor/ the ones that do not say 'rebuild' are backups from transifex that need to be cleaned - maybe unified as well.emmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/tor-browser/-/issues/41158Clean up locales that are not being translated2023-10-31T14:41:07ZemmapeelClean up locales that are not being translatedEy there:

Testing the fluent file https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/torbutton/-/blob/main/chrome/locale/en-US/branding/brand.ftl I realised some issues with the locales.
### locale 'ku' is an umbrella for several locales
we have a 'ku' locale directory at https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/torbutton/-/blob/main/chrome/locale/ku/
This term means Kurdish, but there are many different Kurdish locales, so this is not really a locale. THe most important locales are Central Kurdish or Sorani (ckb), and Northern Kurdish (kmr), which is also called Kurmanji.
I could not import `ku` on weblate, the same should happen in transifex, and also it is in English anyway, so we are not losing any translations.
**Please remove the 'ku' folders from the repo.**
### Too many Bengali versions
This may be somehow my responsibility: in Transifex we have the language code 'bn', but for Firefox we need bn-IN or bn-BD. I suggest we stick to one language on the translation platform and if we cannot publish 'bn', we should decide on one country code or publish it in both.Sponsor 131 - Phase 5 - Ongoing Maintenancehttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/ux/research/-/issues/61Prepare localized user research materials for target countries2023-09-18T19:40:13ZGabagaba@torproject.orgPrepare localized user research materials for target countriesThis is user research material related to sponsor 9 during Q1 of 2022.This is user research material related to sponsor 9 during Q1 of 2022.Sponsor 9 - Phase 5 - Usability and Community Intervention on Support for Democracy and Human Rightsemmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/community/l10n/-/issues/40089Migration from Transifex to Weblate2023-09-05T14:28:03ZGabagaba@torproject.orgMigration from Transifex to WeblateWe are migrating to Weblate for multiple reasons (we need to start supporting Fluent for Tor Browser, and we are moving to an open source platform thinking on the possibility of self-hosting in the future).

- create a new component in Weblate for the project

First step is to find a place where we can see the language codes Firefox uses.
It used to be https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/ but the codes are not visible there anymore.
We could maybe use https://pontoon.mozilla.org/teams/ to know the situation of languages, but we don't know if there is a release for them.
At least two languages we could change are: `bn_BD` to `bn`, `es_ES` to `es`. As I understand, the country was forced on this locales because that was the name used in Firefox, but now in Pontoon I see `es` and `bn`.
As our translations are done by volunteers and many times lack updating, it is better for us to have less locales that are mantained by more people, so they are updated. So, we have only one Spanish translation since we dropped es-AR, and one Bengali translation.
