When considering the text alignment for your web page content-centered text.
Whitespace is actually really important to web design because you can use it to improve readability and website performance.
The empty not only create harmony, balance, and helps to brand a design, it can also be used to lead a reader from one element to another. Our main goals are to make the website look simple and uncluttered and to deliver information that our readers will enjoy and appreciate.
**Why is this important?**
Before downloading the application, people tend to visit the website to understand why they should prefer the new application, rather than their existing ones.
**Why does this satisfy?**
1. Easily understandable
2. Clean and self-explanatory
3. Use of Brand colors instead of whitespace
**Why leave the [space empty](https://www.seguetech.com/whitespace-web-design/#:~:text=Whitespace%20not%20only%20creates%20harmony,readers%20will%20enjoy%20and%20appreciate.)?**
1. Enhancing Usability
2. Legibility - When text and/or content is smashed together, tightly spaced, or otherwise overly cluttered the results can be, well, kind of off-putting.
**Why will the community benefit from it?**
1. The user will feel comfortable and creates Connectivity

When considering the text alignment for the header bar. Headers are often referred to as «Site Menus» and positioned as a key element of navigation in the website layout. Proper alignment in the designs will make them visually more appealing and will also make it easier for users to scan over a page.

But if they’re off-target with a smaller button, they’ll miss and hit an adjacent button. This is why smaller buttons need more spacing than larger buttons.
**Why is this important?**
When opening the tor browser mobile application, we see a start exploring button, but the size of the button is smaller which might make the user hit off-target.
I am not able to add screenshots as the tor browser doesn't permit.

# Onion Services and its users
This is a pilot research to understand how the changes on onion services can impact the user experience when browsing through Tor. The main goals are as following:
* Understand if the users know what are the onion services
* If users understand how onion services protect their identity and privacy
* If users knows what’s the difference between https and onion services
* What are users pain points when using onion services
**Audience:** regular Tor users
**Participants:** 5
**Recruitment:**
* User should have Tor browser installed and running
* Be familiarized with Tor browser experience
**Methodology:**
As a pilot research, we will run online forms with data analysis.
**Activity**
Scenario: access your a given-URL news website, browse it, then access the same website onion service.
**Success criteria:**
* User can access onion services without or after a little research to find the onion link.
**Attachment**
* Demographics questionnaire
* Limesurvey template

Enhancing the Search Experience
**Why is it a problem?** (Why is it important)
Enhancing Search experience is essential as it is one of the most common elements that we interact with daily. If users can easily express their queries and needs, and they get useful information or personalized information, it can be a win for the app or website.
**How would you solve the problem? What is your design proposal?**
We can enhance the user’s searching experience by :
1. Improving the search experience on the home screen

Sync History issue
**Why is it a problem?**
Existing User Flow:
In the desktop browser
Menu >> Library >> history
In the mobile browser
If at home
Tabs >> Menus >> Recently closed tabs >> show full history
Problem :
-To perform a certain task user have to follow two different paths on different devices. It can result in confusion.
-Synced tabs are grouped under History but it's an open tab in another device. The user might get confused.
-The library is hidden in the menu. So, synced tabs in the library can be ineffective.
**How would you solve the problem? What is your design proposal?**
-Target: Simplifying the UX, Accessible in 2-3 clicks
-As synched tabs are the active tabs (open tabs), could be grouped under Open tabs.
-New User Flowhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/ux/design/-/issues/10[UX] Adding shortcuts in the search bar2021-12-13T18:15:54Zriyajawandhiya[UX] Adding shortcuts in the search bar**Mention the issue**

During a search, if the search bar is clicked automatically text is selected there are no suggestions or shortcuts are showing whether we want to copy the text or the document button is given there whose usage is not clear.
Either we have to click shortcuts or delete the selected text, which increases the number of clicks.
**Explain the issue**
It's an issue because, in the browser, the documentation shortcut button confuses the user and some users are lost.https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/ux/design/-/issues/11[UX] Seperate private search engine2022-04-06T21:20:41Zriyajawandhiya[UX] Seperate private search engine**What is the problem you are trying to solve?**

Users may want to change the default search provider.
**Why is it a problem?**
The user might not want to use Duck Duck Go as a default search engine as they can be more careful about searching on the [local level](https://dzone.com/articles/duckduckgo-has-a-privacy-problem).
None of the search engines is perfect, so we can give users the freedom to use the search engine which they trust.
