Firefox freezes when opening any popup window with HTTPS-E >= 3.5

I am currently using Firefox 29 from the firefox-next ubuntu PPA.

I haven't used the computer a lot this week, but today I started seing Firefox freeze (stops responding and is greyed out on Ubuntu) whenever a popup window tries to open (my test case was shift-clicking the compose button on gmail).

After a bit of trial and error, I was able to isolate it to HTTPS Everywhere. I've used it for some time now, with no issues, and I don't believe I've changed anything recently.

I've tried going forward to the latest https-everywhere-4.0development.16.xpi and still get the freeze. Downgrading to https-everywhere-3.4.5.xpi "fixes" the issue.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
