TLS Error, connection difficulties on MacOS X 10.5.8
I am using the operating system: Mac OS 10.5.8 Software:Tor Version: 0.2.1.22 Vidalia 0.2.6 QT 4.3.5
Hardware: 1.35 GHz PowerPC G4, 832 MB SDRAM Connecting via DSL on a 2Wire 2701 HG-E Firewall and Router ports opened for Tor: 9001, 1030
While attempting to start Tor via the Vidalia window, The following error appeared: Servers must be able to freely connect to the rest of the Internet, so they must not set Reachable*Addresses or FascistFirewall.
After examining the Log file, the following error(s) appeared repeatedly: "TLS error: unexpected close while renegotiating"
And occasionally: "Controller gave us config lines that didn't validate: Servers must be able to freely connect to the rest of the Internet, so they must not set Reachable*Addresses or FascistFirewall."
I checked my router, the appropriate ports were open (9001, 9030). I examined my firewall, the ports needed were open there as well.
The connection was (to my surprise) eventually established but the TLS errors keep happening.
Until a week and a half ago I was using Vidalia & Tor periodically without difficulty. I suspect the most recent Apple "security update" is responsible, either that or my ISP is blocking Tor connections.
I have never submitted a bug report using this method before, so I apologize in advance if there is any missing information that might be useful.
Thanks.
