tor packet recommends privoxy - documentation recommends polipo
this is not really a bug neither a feature request but merely a problem other newbies might run into following your documentation like I did.
Problem: Trying to install Tor follwoing the basic installation guide on the Tor Project's website (https://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-doc-unix.html.en) you will find that using Ubuntu's 9.10 apt preconfiguration the tor packet will recommend both Privoxy and Polipo but Privoxy will get installed and started.
As a consequence "step 1" of the aforementioned installation guide will prevent "step 2" to be successful as Polipo will refuse to start as long as privoxy is bound to it's preconfigured port. This is not too easy for a newbie to notice as Polipo's error log didn't even mention privoxy or the port as a problem IIRC and unlike in the Windows-world stopping Privoxy is not enough to release the port.
Thanks for your cool software.
