OS X: Support "Special Characters" input prompt

Used mostly for emojis, but also used for special/unicode characters. Usually any input, when focused, a user can press Ctrl + Command + Space and a "popup" prompt will show:

Alternatively a user can access it from the Edit -> Emoji & Symbols menu item.

This is expected for almost everything in OS X, and for a chat application in 2015, it's not the best to have it missing.

Presently, I am unable to access the popup when using Tor Messenger. I have to generate emoji elsewhere on my computer and copy/paste them into my conversations.

Arguing it's a defect vs. enhancement because OS X is supposed to have this available on all inputs, regardless of the developers' intents.
