Silent crash at 80% Bootstrap Tor 0.2.9.8 OSX10.4

Since upgrading to Tor 0.2.9.8, Tor crashes on my OSX10.4 machine at 80% bootstrap. Some debug-level lines:

I noticed lots of warnings about shadow declarations and implicit truncation from 64 bit to 32 bit.
