ORBOT - Apps VPN Mode Broken

I've been using ORBOT Apps VPN Mode and it suddenly stopped working.

1. The key symbol no longer shows
2. There are new screens: a. Screen #1

"Orbot Apps VPN Mode: you can enable all apps on you device to run through the Tor network using the VPN feature of Android.

WARNING This is a new, experimental feature...etc. CANCEL ACTIVATE"

clicking on ACTIVATE brings the next screen:

"Connection Request Orbot wants to set up a VPN connection that allows it to monitor....etc CANCEL OK"

clicking OK - nothing happens ... as if the OK button is disabled. Clicking cancel brings me a black screen.

I am using: Sprint Cell Service HTC One M9 (model number OPJA2)

ANDROID ver. 6.0 HTC Sense 7.0
