Tor Messenger not showing notifications from group chat

I have enabled "When receiving a new message" > "Flash the taskbar item" and "Notify of messages received in inactive windows". However, I never see notifications for incoming messages. This makes Tor Messenger almost useless to me, since I never reply to my contacts in time.

I think it might be, because Gnome3 never puts the Windows to minimized, but always just another window in front. Maybe the window is never realized as inactive.

Any idea, how to improve this?
