decomission listera

listera is probably our oldest server. our install dates at least from 2012, but the hardware itself is rumored to be as old as 2007, a whopping 13 years ago. it has all sorts of problems from nagios complaining about fans to weird hardware requirements (see the proliant class in puppet for an example).

decomissioning that server would simplify our work and remove a possibly unreliable point of failure from the infrastructure.

according to LDAP, it is part of the www.tpo, archive.tpo and media.tpo rotations, and is possibly a nameserver.

it might be worth rebuilding a server like this in a completely unrelated location, since it's one of those precious machines that does not live inside an existing cluster.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
