Orbot on non-rooted Honeycomb 3.2 can use hidden built-in Proxy

The help text in Orbot for non-rooted systems suggests using approved applications. One such app is Firefox + the Proxy plugin. I am running on an ASUS Transformer Honeycomb 3.2 and having used the PDA tablet app, knew there was a way to set up a proxy port forward in the OS itself.

A Moto XOOM forum post pointed me to an app called "AnyCut" which lets you make a desktop widget for almost any system component or app. One of the components is "Proxy Settings". Thus:

  1. Run Orbot
  2. Run "Proxy Settings". Fill in the form to point to 127.0.0.1:8118
  3. Stock web browser will automatically use this proxy.

Interested in helping with research on this.
