Dying on permission

I had been running Tor on Windows Vista successfully until now. Startup is failing with the following error.

Oct 23 14:30:01.921 [Notice] Tor v0.2.1.30. This is experimental software. Do not rely on it for strong anonymity.
(Running on Windows "Longhorn" Service Pack 2 [workstation] {personal} {terminal services, single user})
Oct 23 14:30:02.139 [Notice] Initialized libevent version 1.4.14-stable using method win32. Good.
Oct 23 14:30:02.139 [Notice] Opening Socks listener on 127.0.0.1:9050
Oct 23 14:30:02.139 [Notice] Opening Control listener on 127.0.0.1:9051
Oct 23 14:30:02.139 [Warning] Couldn't open "C:\var\var\AppData\Roaming\tor\lock" for locking: Permission denied
Oct 23 14:30:02.139 [Error] set_options(): Bug: Acting on config options left us in a broken state. Dying.

Where and how do I grant permission? Thanks
