Funny timing (exactly 60 min) for establishing Tor circuit with exit node restriction in current alpha version
I have experienced funny (and too long!) timing for establishing a Tor circuit when specifying exit nodes in the U.S. with the current alpha version Tor v0.2.3.12-alpha (git-800942b4176ca31c). The timing is always 60 minutes for 3 trials I did on March 12 (screenshot attached).
If I run the current stable version Tor v0.2.2.35 (git-73ff13ab3cc9570d) with the same .torrc/options, a circuit is established within 1 min.
The options I'm using for the tor client are:
SocksPort 9060
SocksListenAddress 127.0.0.1
SafeLogging 0
Log info file ./info.log
Log debug file ./debug.log
UseBridges 1
Bridge 128.18.9.78888
ExitNodes {us}
StrictNodes 1
I looked at the progress and timing of circuit establishment using the following command:
$> tail -f info.log | grep Bootstrapped
I would like to use the alpha version in this configuration in order to run obfsproxy and obtain measurements on my client, so any help resolving this to circuit creation times in the range of a few minutes would be highly appreciated.
