False notifcation of security update

I extracted tor-browser-gnu-linux-i686-2.3.25-2-dev-en-US.tar.gz on an Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit machine. I then ran start-tor-browser and tor runs as expected. If I click Exit on the Vidalia Control Panel the application shuts down as expected. I can then restart the application with start-tor-browser.

On the other hand if I close the browser first and then click Exit on the Vidalia Control Panel I experience a message that "a security update is available" when I next run the application. check.torproject.org prompts me to download the same version which I am already running.

This problem also occurs with the 64 bit version on CentOS 6.

Sorry I do not know which component is at fault.
