"Transparent Torification" does not work as expected

If "Transparent Torification" in Proxy Settings is enabled I'd expect do directly access the Internet without Tor (if no iptables rules redirect the traffic to a TransPort).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. open torbrowser

  2. click the onion

  3. select preferences

  4. select "Transparent Torification" (radio button)

  5. select "OK" (nothing happens - the windows does not close)

  6. close the window and torbrowser

  7. open torbrowser (the onion sign shows a big "X" in front of it) one would expect that Tor is not enabled

  8. open a website to check your source IP (i.e. checkip.dyndns.org)

expected result: browser should show a non-Tor exit IP address.

actual result: browser shows a Tor exit IP address

(This test was not done at an internet connection that is also hosting an exit node)

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have admin enable hashed storage. More information
