Tor does not report full version number or release date
It doesn't report the (for example) "-8" patchlevel.
And it's hard to find the partial version number it does report in Vidalia (it's in the message log or About box).
The message log says something like:
[Sun May 26 20:12:37 2013] The Tor Software is Running - You are currently running version "0.2.3.25 (git-17c24b3118224d65)" of the Tor software.
However, the latest available for download from torproject.org is 2.3.25-8. Notice the "-8" is missing from the version reported by Tor.
It would also be nice if Tor/Vidalia reported the date of that version.
