Sysadmin/service admins Team
Tor's sysadmins and service admins will meet in Brussels.
Week at a glance
We meet at January 31st and February 1st.
One goal is to think about Tor's infrastructure over the next years. What services can and should we run for ourselves and what can others do.
Upsides of running a service ourselves include
- control over the data; migration to other service or provider
- traffic data; users privacy
- availability; less external dependencies
Downsides of running a service include
- cost; peoples hours, system resources (CPU, RAM, storage), bandwidth
- small-scale effects; cost of a service is often lower per user when the number of users is large
