Make the abstract function of the Snowflake addon a bit more interesting - please also utilize people's curiosity
Hello all,
first of all thanks for providing this great opportunity to help people in countries with very restrictive Internet access to help people to use the free Internet.
Snowflake lives on the number of people who install the corresponding extension in their browser. And here I have a small improvement suggestion to increase this spread at least a little bit.
I often see that the Snowflake icon in the browser turns green, and I often catch myself to look (via corresponding network tools), from which country the connection originates (currently very often Iran and Russia). Maybe it's not only me who has this curiosity?
Therefore I would suggest to add the following small functionality to increase the incentive for users a little bit, and to change an abstract hope "I help some people" into "so I help people in Iran again today".
Wouldn't that be a great feature to play on the human weakness "curiosity"?
Therefore suggestion (maybe it already existed?)

Snowflake should display a small country flag directly in the icon bar of the browser to indicate the country from which a corresponding IP connection originates. But this should be possible at a glance, without having to click into any submenu.

This function should be optional and deactivatable (default: off, especially if the following point is problematic).

Surely you would have to find a way to implement the resolution of the connection to specific country IP ranges (possibly via something like iplocation.net), because this also means a third party connection. Maybe there is a more privacy friendly solution (update static mapping lists for IP ranges statically with every Snowflake update, but I don't know enough about that).

What would also be great would be a short discreet Snowflake sound (as a trademark or recognition mark), so that one notices in the background, if the icon became green again. This should also be configurable (can be switched off), because some people are of course annoyed by a background tone.
All in all it's a gimmick, but I think that not only I would like to see the "help event" made more "tangible".
I believe, one should use all means, and ggfs. someone shares my suggestion. Thank you and many greetings from Germany
