Verifying tag with wrong key gives confusing error message (not a signed tag)

If I specify a wrong key (via gpg_keyring) for verifying a signed tag during build (by setting tag_gpg_id: 1) I get the following error message:

Error: metrics-lib-2.11.0 is not a signed tag

However, that tag is clearly signed, I just happened to specify the wrong key. The error message is confusing and should point to the right problem instead.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
