Unable to play videos due to missing codecs since 10.0.10 (Linux)

Ever since the update to 10.0.10 I have been unable to play videos on any site (except, for some reason, youtube). This was not the case before the update. Web developer console gives me the following output for twitch.tv: "The video on this page can’t be played. Your system may not have the required video codecs for: video/mp4;codecs="vp09.00.10.08""

This is what I tried so far:

searched far and wide for someone with the same issue, unfortunately to no avail
tried accessing the same websites using Firefox, where I did not get this error. All necessary codecs should be installed as I had no trouble watching videos with Tor Browser before the update.
disabled NoScript and uBlock Origin, but received the same error.
tried all different security levels on tor browser, same error.
used "Restart with add-ons disabled" safe mode, same error.
disabled firejail, same error. (firejail is a sandbox program)
disabled apparmor profiles, same error. (Apparmor is an access control program)
disabled both firejail and apparmor profiles, same error.
deleted and downloaded tor browser via Arch Linux repositories again, same error.
deleted and downloaded tor browser directly from the website, same error.

I had hoped 10.0.12 would fix this issue again, but that is sadly not the case. I wanted to try and revert back to an earlier version of Tor Browser to see if my linux system was at fault but did not find any place to download older versions from.

This is off topic, but I've also noticed that no matter what site I visit I get the message "Connection not secure" when looking at site information.
