Tor Browser gives "Gah. Your tab just crashed" errors on media-heavy .onion sites, and crashes if I open Dev Tools or about:config
Summary
On my main Windows 10 PC, any and all installations of Tor Browser in the past 12-ish months, result in "Gah. Your tab just crashed" errors when loading media-heavy .onion
domains, either immediately or after 1~8 seconds. In other instances, the page doesn't crash, but images may fail to load.
Causes "Gah. Your tab just crashed.":

The inability to load Facebook and NYT has persisted for roughly a year across some 20 Tor Browser reinstalls, switching between various combinations of stable/alpha, x64/x86, English / Norwegian Bokmål, Tor Browser 9.x/10.x, autoconnecting on browser start / connecting to my RaspPi's Tor relay, and at one point doing a full uninstall of Firefox in the off-chance there could be any settings overlap (There wasn't any that I could see).
Moreover, Tor Browser crashes to desktop approx. 1 second after either pressing F12 (to open Dev Tools), trying to visit about:config
through the URL bar, or visiting about:support
through ⋮ → Help → Troubleshooting Information.
It did however not affect Tor Browser on my Raspberry Pi's Raspbian Bullseye.
The sympthoms I get, bear a striking resemblance to https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/86356, with the fairly big exception that I'm receiving them on Windows 10.
Steps to reproduce:
How one can reproduce the issue - this is very important.
I've tried to best of my abilities to find a cause, but haven't found any indication whatsoever. On my end:
- Start up Tor Browser
- Connect to a Tor curcuit
- Paste
https://facebookwkhpilnemxj7asaniu7vnjjbiltxjqhye3mhbshg7kx5tfyd.onion/StrawberryShortcake
into the URL bar and press Enter. - The page will show a login prompt (because Facebook doesn't trust guest viewers very much), and then the tab crashes approx. 1 second later.
What is the current bug behavior?
See "Summary" above.
What is the expected behavior?
That pages and images are loaded correctly.
