Maybe disable bookmark backups
Old text:
Tor browser shouldn't backup bookmarks at all and even when bookmarks are deleted, old backups remain in:
/Browser/TorBrowser/Data/Browser/profile.default/bookmarkbackups
It's not clear to me that disabling bookmark backups outright makes sense from either a disk leak perspective or a UX perspective.
For disk leaks, bookmarks are already stored to disk. So not having backups just hides info about the previous state of the user's bookmarks. Arguably though, uses would expect the evidence of a bookmark existing should disappear when you 'delete' it. An alternative here could be lean on what OS's and apps like KeePassXC do when a file/entry is deleted; it's actually moved to a visible 'Deleted' folder or Bin (like on Windows and macOS), and forego these incremental backups entirely.
