Recently I've been wondering about the reasons to have this patch in our browsers, in addition to being a response to the upstream changes (i.e., to reason about it in terms of threat model).
Here are a couple of scenarios protected by this patch:
shared computer. Use case: I'm using TBB on a shared computer, and another person needs to use that computer. When I close TBB, I want to be sure the other person won't have my data in the clipboard.
not multi-tasker users, i.e., users that don't do anything else when using Tor Browser, and they just care of everything disappearing when they close it.
