so when I posted the original, it was an upgrade from 102 to 115 - hence "version change" - since then I haven't seen it (dot releases) - I guess android doesn't have an ESR so it never triggers on these - yah! So yeah, just remove the what's new and that should also kill the blue dot for those upgrading 12.5 -> 13
@clairehurst this is menu entry in the kebab menu, but only seems to be accessible when on the about:tor page/fragment thing (so not on ordinary web content). There also may be some notification mechanism that should also be disabled. This would be a change to the firefox-android repo (I doubt this feature would touch other components but who knows)
On 12.5.4, Whats New goes to torproject.org/releases. It seems that moz changed the underlying logic to directly get the URL (their URL) instead of using a function to get it (which we changed to return our URL). An easy fix would be to just replace their URL with ours (which is what we did before anyways, just in the function they used instead). With that in mind do we still want to remove the What's new completely?
@clairehurst does this trigger everytime the app updates? In which case we could update the link to direct the user to the relevant blog.torproject.org post (which includes a variant of the browser version in).
