A big part of 4e1505f2fc22bba729fb5156b166ba3f25ab09ef is the creation of an alpha channel (not as modified lines, but as a number of files). I think we could move it on its own commit. I couldn't find the original issue about the creation of this channel, maybe it was the original updater ticket.
