Sometimes users write to the Help Desk saying that their Tor Browsers do not manage to start. Since it does not start and stops in the initial loading "Tor Status" screen displaying "Connecting to the Tor Network", users are unable to grab a log to send to the Help Desk.

Trac: Summary: Tor Browser needs to provide users with complete log before starting to Tor log should be accessible while Tor Browser is starting up Component: Tor bundles/installation to Tor Launcher Owner: erinn to brade Milestone: TorBrowserBundle 2.3.x-stable toN/A
I agree that there should be a way to access the log from the progress dialog. It would be nice if legacy/trac#10059 (moved) was also fixed but this bug will focus on providing access.
Just saw another instance of a user running into this issue on #tor. This can be an obstacle to providing good support. Also confirmed on Tor Browser 7.5a4 on Linux -- the button "clicks" (shows the I've-been-clicked feedback) but nothing gets copied unless I first hit "cancel" in the progress window.
launch script allows you to spit out torbuton/tor-launcher output to console already, or you can go view the log in about:preferences#tor now that we no longer use the legacy launcher
