Color contrast ratios do not always pass AA compliance

I've gotten some questions because of low contrast. I took this from a screenshot, not from the code:

174 113 225 #ae71e1 is 'Bridge Address' 
51 42 118 #332a76 is the background 

That gives us a 3.6:1 contrast ratio, which is too low.

@donuts you can tell me if what I write here makes sense, if it doesn't close. Imho the contrast everywhere else is also low, but here it's too low.
