Emphasize the initial release is an open beta
The initial public release of Tor VPN will be classified as an "Open Beta", to emphasize that the app is still in development and is not yet "stable". There are several different things we will need to communicate to users during the beta period:
- That the app is in "Open Beta", and what this means.
- That users should expect bugs, and report issues when found via the appropriate channels.
- That the app is not suitable for high-risk users or sensitive use-cases during this period.
We will need to communicate the above (to varying degrees) in the following channels:
-
On the Google Play Store and F-Droid, such as in the app title, description, and possibly graphic assets, for example. -
In the app itself – such as within a first-launch dialog and/or the About view. -
On the Download page for Tor VPN. -
On the Support portal. -
In graphic assets provided to Comms, which may be published on the blog, forum or social media, for example.
