I can use this comment to lower the priority of such strings, with the 'Bulk edit' addon in Weblate.
I tested it on the https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/tor/tor-browser/tb-settingsproperties/ component, I need to add it to the others.
I look for strings with `note:"Will be unused in Tor Browser"`.emmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/community/l10n/-/issues/40133Separate translation contributions per person in the commits, just in case2024-02-13T13:27:07ZemmapeelSeparate translation contributions per person in the commits, just in caseWatching the video at https://fosdem.org/2024/schedule/event/fosdem-2024-1906-lessons-learnt-as-a-translation-contributor-the-past-4-years/ I think I need to change the configuration of our components in weblate.

To save space, and because I can see this information in weblate if I need it, I was squashing translators contributions in weblate all together in one commit. But if a translator would want to remove its contributions, it will be a very difficult thing to do. So it is better to separate the contributions and have one commit per person.emmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/community/l10n/-/issues/40132Improve GuardianProject Weblate setup2024-02-12T15:01:28ZemmapeelImprove GuardianProject Weblate setupLast year I helped the GuardianProject to fix their weblate setup, but I forgot to add a ticket about it.

In Weblate, when several files to translate are on the same branch, you can use one component as an internal weblate repo, as this saves resources and space.
For the Tor Browser, many components are tied to the \`aboutDialog.dtd\` component, but this file will dissapper eventually, so I need to choose another default file (tor-browser.ftl) and tie the rest of the components to it.Sponsor 9 - Phase 7 - Usability and Community Intervention on Support for Democracy and Human Rightsemmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/community/l10n/-/issues/40128Retire 'gettor web' component2023-11-08T11:18:05ZemmapeelRetire 'gettor web' componentThe small website for GetTor has been replaced with a forward to the support portal gettor page, for easier maintenance and updates.

Almost, because when they have neutral-direction characters, those are still layered as RTL, and so, many commands are broken and will not work if copied by the users:
![Screenshot_from_2023-10-13_10-57-49](/uploads/4993334ae16eaa0e064423d9e2e6947d/Screenshot_from_2023-10-13_10-57-49.png) ![Screenshot_from_2023-10-13_10-57-21](/uploads/d78dd206ff6c4730e9d55fb5d8b90069/Screenshot_from_2023-10-13_10-57-21.png)
If we insert UTF-8 embedded direction characters, many times they are removed because they are fishy (for example, they will be removed from the page if you edit it in the gitlab editor).
So I think we can try to solve this by giving the `<code>` style a forced LTR direction. This will probably make sense to do in lego, but I will try on one lektor before to see if it works.Jérôme Charaouilavamind@torproject.orgJérôme Charaouilavamind@torproject.orghttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/community/l10n/-/issues/40119Update torlauncher translation setup2024-01-31T14:43:58ZemmapeelUpdate torlauncher translation setupTorlauncher's setup needs to be updated. In transifex, you could setup a project in a way that you only add the original translation source, i.e. the English file, and transifex checked twice a day if that file changed, and updated it on its repository.
In this way, we didnt need to follow the changes in the whole repository, and we can have one branch on our translation repository with only the translations, and not the rest of the files on the repository that we dont really care about.
But in weblate there is no way to do that, so I should do a script that with a list of components in weblate/translation repo, for each component:
- Pulls the last commits from the component
- Checks if there have been changes on the source file
- If there are changes, presents them for review
- Updates this file on the translation repo, and pushes
And I should also have a configuration file with the different URLs per componentemmapeelemmapeel
