Document transifex tags in the Localization for reviewers wikipage
I am trying to tag different strings in transifex to be able to review contents when they are ready for translation.
I should share this tags with other translators, so they can review as well.
-
translate_alt (images' alt attribute goes usually untranslated, because of the transifex interface, but it is bad for accessibility because the screen readers cannot make sense of the alt) -
localize - localize_link - no_localize_link - some of the links can be changed to the proper locale, for example https://community.torproject.org/localization/becoming-tor-translator/ can be translated to Spanish as https://community.torproject.org/es/localization/becoming-tor-translator/ . Some other links dont have translation and should be the same. -
notranslate - this tag is used for strings that do not need to be translated. Either because they are markdown lines as ---- or maybe because they are commands, application names, etc. I usually select all the strings on this tag and copy the souce string to the translation to prevent errors. Many users translate for example the extracts of the tor log, but the logs are not translated, so we should leave them in English.
Then there are also some tags used to be able to translate specific topics or parts of the documentation. This tags just cover a section of one of our websites. They are:
- Glossary
- homepage
- localization
- onion-services
- outreach
- relay-operations
- relay-slides
- training
- user-research
