gitlab ci is now out-of-sync between master and maint-0.3.5

There are big comments at the head of .gitlab-ci.yml and ci-driver.sh that say to keep them in sync on all our branches. But they aren't in sync any more.

@dgoulet, can you have a look? I think it's your commits for tracing that broke this property.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
