# **Fundraising Team**
## Overview
Welcome to the Fundraising Team page. The Fundraising team is responsible for raising funds from individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other entities who are interested in financially supporting the Tor Project and our work.
We work on things like the Tor Project’s annual year-end campaign, grant proposals, individual outreach to donors, and making sure everybody who makes a gift to the Tor Project knows how important they are to the fight for internet freedom.

You can also message the team on IRC by joining #tor-project on OFTC [https://www.torproject.org/about/contact.html.en#irc]. If you've never been on IRC before, [here are some instructions to get started](https://wiki.mozilla.org/IRC). These instructions are for a Mozilla IRC server, so instead of irc.mozilla.org, you'll use OFTC. The OFTC server addresses are: irc.oftc.net:6667 (alternative ports: 6668-6670, 7000) or irc.oftc.net:6697 for SSL (alternative port: 9999) (SSL is recommended).
