+# **Fundraising Team**
+## Overview
+Welcome to the Fundraising Team page. The Fundraising team is responsible for raising funds from individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other entities who are interested in financially supporting the Tor Project and our work.
+
+We work on things like the Tor Project’s annual year-end campaign, grant proposals, individual outreach to donors, and making sure everybody who makes a gift to the Tor Project knows how important they are to the fight for internet freedom.
+

+## Communication
+The best way to contact the Fundraising team is through email at fundraising at torproject dot org or grants at torproject dot org if you have a grant-specific question or suggestion.
+
+You can also message the team on IRC by joining #tor-project on OFTC [https://www.torproject.org/about/contact.html.en#irc]. If you've never been on IRC before, [here are some instructions to get started](https://wiki.mozilla.org/IRC). These instructions are for a Mozilla IRC server, so instead of irc.mozilla.org, you'll use OFTC. The OFTC server addresses are: irc.oftc.net:6667 (alternative ports: 6668-6670, 7000) or  irc.oftc.net:6697 for SSL (alternative port: 9999) (SSL is recommended).

+Once you get connected and create a nickname, you can join the channel #tor-project. +The team meets weekly on Wednesdays at 1500 UTC through a video chat application. Reach out to us for the best way to get involved.
