However, it would be great to supplement this quantitative research with qualitative interviews to help us reach underrepresented demographics from the global south.
In addition to asking select questions from the VPN Discover Survey, we should also seek to understand their use-cases for using VPN-style products and what features they would consider essential for the MVP.
To achieve this, we'll need to:
### Recruit participants
- [x] Create a screening survey (en/pt/es)
- [x] Analyze survey
- [x] Recruit willing participants
### Conduct the interviews
- [x] Draft an interview script
- [x] Gather feedback and review interview script
- [x] Schedule and confirm interviews in english, portuguese and spanish
- [x] Conduct the interviews within Q2 and Q3
### Report the results
- [x] Transcribe and translate (when needed) the interviews
- [x] Analyze interviews & Write a public report
- [x] Incorporate our findings into the user stories/product requirements where applicable
This ticket relates to the following objectives:

We will use the same questions to interview those that didn't answer the survey and get more feedback. This will be an opportunity to get feedback on materials created as well #22.

However to help track what feedback has made its way into product and plan for future improvements in https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/ux/research/-/issues/20, it would be useful to have a raw list of all user feedback grouped by frequency, platform and anything else that's applicable.

After choosing a research to run, we ask you to open an issue in our [GitLab Page](link) with the title of your research, choose the Usability Testing template option, and fill it with the information of your research. Update the issue as your research evolves.
Some of our UX research and its data, are not disclosed to the public, but its findings are. Because we care about privacy, and we anonymize every participant in our polls, as well, we don't publicize any records.
If you're familiar with the Tor Project and User Research, you can have a look at our [Current Research](link) and see which study better suits you. Remember to drop us an email telling us about your plans, so we can follow your findings and support you in any case.
We also ask you - as a volunteer to our research - to read and follow our [Code of Conduct](link), as well our [Guidelines for Research](link).
**Why do we run Demographics?**
In our [Demographics](link), we don't collect personal data, and all questions are optional. We believe that it's important to us to have some Demographics to understand if we are meeting our mission regarding diversity and inclusion - as well, it's important for some specific studies to support human rights.
**We don't trick participants.**
As a fair research space - our surveys, studies, and reports are open data. Anyone that is going to participate is free to see how our studies looks like - but they are not advised to do so. We also don't use trick questions in our research, as we expect our participants to be honest with us. We also are honest about our questions.
**We don't track participants.**
We care about your privacy and security. If we invite you to participate in a Tor interview, we won't track you and any recordings will be erased after the study is done. We advise volunteers to not record the testings.
**Open source for privacy.**
In case we need to use a software to help analyze our data, we will use and recommend any volunteers to use only free/open source/software. We also ask anyone that runs research to not use softwares that is hosted by a third party like a cloud provider.NahNah
