> Once stories are collected and curated, we will display them on a public-facing web portal. Stories will be organized in relevant categories (e.g., health care, activism, LGBTQ+, journalism, consumer privacy). Allies will be able to easily share these stories with multiple sharing mechanisms: plain text copy and paste, social media share buttons, and downloadable assets (images, graphs, quotes and social collateral) images. The portal will be hosted inside Tor’s Community Portal under the Outreach section (https://community.torproject.org/outreach/) and maintained by the Tor Project and available publicly. We will build the page with internationalization from the start so that in the future, content here can be localized into different languages. See the Appendix for our drafted wireframe as a visual example of a possible direction of the portal.Jag TalonJag Talon2023-11-13https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/152Update Onion Routing and Onion Services graphs in multiple portals2020-12-14T22:14:21ZAntonelaantonela@torproject.orgUpdate Onion Routing and Onion Services graphs in multiple portalsAfter our work with the OTF Learning Lab, we have new and amazing graphs to share the functioning of the onion routing and also onion services. To provide localized forms, we will add them to the community portal.
I feel the best thing will be to add them in a specific place under the [training](https://community.torproject.org/training/) section, and @nah has promised a text about how we really need this input because we dont spy on our users and it will make Tor better etc.Sponsor 9 - Phase 6 - Usability and Community Intervention on Support for Democracy and Human Rightsemmapeelemmapeelhttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/272Redesign the main menu on mobile devices2023-05-02T17:00:27ZGusRedesign the main menu on mobile devicesThe main menu on mobile devices is taking up a good part of the page and it's also covering up the internal menus.

### Proposal
To suggest possible redesigns for the [training resources page](https://community.torproject.org/training/resources/) within the community portal.
Current issues:
- no curation of content: page simply lists resources made by the Tor Project and community members
- absent timestamps (dates created, updated, etc.);
- absent filtering: resources in multiple languages are bundled together, etc.
Additionally, each resource could have:
- tags (e.g. "Tor Browser", "Tor Mobile", "Relays", "Tails"), which would aid in filtering;
- a separate sub-page which could house details such as: learning objectives, time estimate for training delivery, further reading suggestions, etc.
As well, some of the resources listed are in formats other than presentation decks, this includes: guides, zines, and long-reads. For example:
- [guide] https://freedom.press/training/-depth-guide-choosing-web-browser/
- [kit] https://cpj.org/2019/07/digital-safety-kit-journalists/
- [zine] https://www.derechosdigitales.org/wp-content/uploads/que-no-quede-huella.pdfSponsor 9 - Phase 6 - Usability and Community Intervention on Support for Democracy and Human Rightshttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/245Work on community.torproject.org usabilty issues based on user feedback2022-06-23T00:58:42ZGabagaba@torproject.orgWork on community.torproject.org usabilty issues based on user feedbackBased on feedback from Sponsor 9's trainings, this ticket will link to usability issues from the community portal.Based on feedback from Sponsor 9's trainings, this ticket will link to usability issues from the community portal.Sponsor 9 - Phase 5 - Usability and Community Intervention on Support for Democracy and Human Rightshttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/232Text on User Research is not translatable2022-02-04T18:26:10ZemmapeelText on User Research is not translatableI am not sure why, but the content in the card 'Become a tester' at https://community.torproject.org/tr/user-research/ is not available for translation. The problem happens with the title, and also with the text: `We regularly release Tor Browser early versions to allow users to test software improvements and new ideas. I looked a bit on the file (https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/tree/master/content/user-research/become-tester) but I could not find what was the problem. For example, "All About Tor" will be available in 3 formats:

In these cases, I was thinking we could have different icons instead of "Check this resource" button.Sponsor 9 - Phase 5 - Usability and Community Intervention on Support for Democracy and Human Rightshttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/213Come up with a better terminology for bridges2021-10-27T13:31:53ZPhilipp Winterphw@torproject.orgCome up with a better terminology for bridgesOur terminology for bridges is confusing:

* *Private* bridges are bridges that BridgeDB doesn't know about. Users may mistakenly conclude that if a bridge isn't private, it must be public, which is incorrect. Suggestions for other terms: unshared, exclusive, unlisted, unknown.
* *Default* bridges are part of Tor Browser. Conceptually, default bridges are more like obfs4-enabled guard relays. Suggestions for other terms: built-in (we may have been using that term occasionally), standard, public.
* We don't have a consistent term for bridges that are distributed by BridgeDB/rdsys. Perhaps we don't need a term because that's the default?
How can we improve the situation?

# Update
proposal is to change this terminology **everywhere**
- default bridges -> built-in bridges
- will not do private/public bridges anymore
- private bridges -> secret bridges
- public bridges -> distributed bridges
Everywhere means:

- "Get in here to read some suggestions about being a better listener and make a great research experience." - but there is no link. where should the reader get ?
- in the section "Describe and Ask for consent" we have an empty link in "You should take [this material] with you on the day of your research, distribute it among participants, and answer their questions about how to fill it in if they have any." - This material does not link anywhere.
- in the section 'How to submit your findings' we say on the 3rd point: `Create issues in the Research repository`. The research repository links to the readme file. Maybe we should change the link to https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/ux/research/-/issues, and say to create an issue on the `Research project` instead of repository? In other page we say: "After choosing which study to run, open an issue in our [GitLab page](https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/ux/research)."donutsdonutshttps://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/202Add a persona who uses a public computer2021-04-29T16:13:00ZcypherpunksAdd a persona who uses a public computerFrom the blog:

> [The commenter] then said, "this could be a problem in a public computer, when many persons want to use same account." It sounds like a kiosk or an Internet café. That is an interesting new persona to study, Community Team!! (to Gus, et al.) Usually though, public computers are configured for a guest account and/or to automatically log out after a period of time and delete the guest account's files.
It could be any shared device. A neighbor's laptop, phone, etc. If the device is public, then it isn't managed by a neighbor but by an administrator.
I guess this issue should be moved to tpo/ux/research. I wrote it in tpo/web/community because cypherpunks such as myself are not allowed to post in ux/research.https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/174community.torproject.org work2020-12-17T01:36:47ZIsabela Fernandescommunity.torproject.org workThis is the main ticket for the work related to creating community.torproject.org

**Project phases:**
0. content architecture - map current content related to the portal and organize it
1. whiteboard draw organization of the content into pages
2. wireframe these pages
3. create design for these pages [these include design reviews till we are happy with what we have]
4. start organizing content for the pages (with the design already done we will be working with that)
5. update high definition mockups with real content
6. guerrilla user testing #1
7. start coding the pages
8. once content is finished we upload them on transifex for translation to start
9. Once coding is done we can start QA by language (as translations gets complete)
10. [we could do another user test here too before launch if we want - or we can run one after lunch and continue iteration]https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/community/-/issues/44[Style] Relay Operations Section: Add more visual elements to "Types of Relays"2022-01-11T19:58:27ZPili Guerra[Style] Relay Operations Section: Add more visual elements to "Types of Relays"https://community.torproject.org/relay-operations/types-of-relays/ is kind of ... plain.
