@gus On various SM platforms and on Tor Blog comments section, advance tor users have complaint to include Advanced Tor usage section https://www.torproject.org/docs/faq.html.en#advanced on new Tor Portal. Since our new portal is welcoming and easy to use for new Tor users, however we can add this section for our advance users. If you suggest the changes I can work on this issue.

(Whoops, misclick)
When migrating a page from the 2019 docs to support, is it better to copy them verbatim, or rewrite them to be easier to understand? I'm currently working on Anonymity and Security and I don't think that would be possible for someone without a technical background to understand.
Advanced Tor usage Status I'm supposed to "edit my torrc". What does that mean? https://support.torproject.org/tbb/tbb-editing-torrc/ Where's tor's data directory? https://support.torproject.org/tbb/tbb-editing-torrc/ How do I set up logging, or see Tor's logs? https://support.torproject.org/tbb/tbb-21/ What log level should I use? Won't merge. Tor is running, but it's not working correctly. https://support.torproject.org/connecting/connecting-2/ My Tor Browser keeps crashing. I think we're well covered here: https://support.torproject.org/misc/bug-or-feedback/ https://support.torproject.org/connecting/connecting-1/ Can I control which nodes (or country) are used for entry/exit? https://support.torproject.org/tbb/tbb-16/ My firewall only allows a few outgoing ports. #215 (closed) Is there a list of default exit ports? #216 (closed) I keep seeing these warnings about SOCKS and DNS information leaks. Should I worry? Won't be merged How do I check if my application that uses SOCKS is leaking DNS requests? #217 (closed) needs update I want to run my Tor client on a different computer than my applications. #218 (closed) Can I install Tor on a central server, and have my clients connect to it? #219 (closed) How do I use Tor from an IPv6 only host/computer? # check with network team Won't be merged Anonymity and Security Status What protections does Tor provide? #220 (closed) Can exit nodes eavesdrop on communications? Isn't that bad? (https://support.torproject.org/https/https-1/) So I'm totally anonymous if I use Tor? (https://support.torproject.org/faq/staying-anonymous/) Tell me about all the keys Tor uses. #221 (closed) What are Entry Guards? #222 (closed) How often does Tor change its paths? #223 (closed) Tor uses hundreds of bytes for every IRC line. I can't afford that! Won't merge Why does netstat show these outbound connections? Won't merge What about powerful blocking mechanisms Won't merge Does Tor resist "remote physical device fingerprinting"? #224 (closed) Is Tor like a VPN? Won't merge Aren't 10 proxies (proxychains) better than Tor with only 3 hops? Won't merge What attacks remain against onion routing? #225 (closed) Where can I learn more about anonymity? Won't merge Alternate designs that we don't do (yet) Status You should make every Tor user be a relay. #226 (closed) You should transport all IP packets, not just TCP packets. #227 (closed) You should hide the list of Tor relays, so people can't block the exits. #228 (closed) You should let people choose their path length. https://support.torproject.org/misc/misc-11/ You should change path selection to avoid entering and exiting from the same country. Won't merge You should split each connection over many paths. #229 You should migrate application streams across circuits. Won't merge You should let the network pick the path, not the client. #230 (closed) Your default exit policy should block unallocated net blocks too. Won't merge Exit policies should be able to block websites, not just IP addresses. #231 (closed) You should change Tor to prevent users from posting certain content. Won't merge You should send padding so it's more secure. #232 You should use steganography to hide Tor traffic. Won't merge Edited by Gus@gus You wrote that "I keep seeing these warnings about SOCKS and DNS information leaks. Should I worry?" won't be merged. That FAQ is actually logged by Tor as part of an error message about a SOCKS DNS leak:
[warn] Your application (using socks5 to port 80) is giving Tor only an IP address. Applications that do DNS resolves themselves may leak information. Consider using Socks4A (e.g. via privoxy or socat) instead. For more information, please see https://2019.www.torproject.org/docs/faq.html.en#WarningsAboutSOCKSandDNSInformationLeaks. Rejecting.
That error's gonna need to be updated either way, but maybe we should merge part of that answer into #217 (closed)
