Adapt patch written in bug 27178 (different compression algorithms) for update from 8.0a10 to next alpha release

We needed to patch our incremental MAR generation script to be able to handle different compression algorithms simultaneously (done in #27178 (moved)). We need to adapt that patch to handle future alpha updates.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
