win32 uname doesn't exist

Does uname exist on win32? If so, we should use it. If not, we should print something vaguely useful in the platform string.

Yes, a windows compiler has a command-name called /U that takes an option called "name", so you get a hit when you search MSDN for Uname.

But that isn't what we wanted; we wanted an equivelent for the POSIX function uname, which tells you what operating system your're running on (along with other things).

Oops. I hadn't seen the admin request to reopen this. (So that's what "admin request" means!) I hope that whatever the problem was, it wound up getting fixed; it's been over a year, so I'm going to close this again. If not, please request that this be re-opened again.
