Adapt the instructions on bridges.torproject.org to Tor VPN
I'm creating this issue here and not on https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/anti-censorship/rdsys because I'm guessing that BridgeDB will still be in use when we launch Tor VPN in 2025Q3.
Current design
User research findings
During the usability tests of Tor VPN 0.6.2 (tpo/ux/research#69 (closed)), 1/6 participant arrived on the current from Tor VPN and thought that the instructions applied to Tor VPN. She said "I would do all this... Download Tor Browser... and so on".
This HTTPS distributor should be more product agnostic.
Ideas
My hunch is that things would be easier if we remove the current steps and structure the flow upside down and all in a single page:
- Give bridges with the default transport straight away, like landing directly on https://bridges.torproject.org/bridges?transport=obfs4
- Provide alternative for other pluggable transports
- Link below to instructions on how to enter bridges in different Tor products, Tor Browser, Tor VPN, Tails, etc.
