Countdown on Apple.com not working

The Apple live event countdown doesn't show numbers on http://www.apple.com/live/.

From dev console:

• (3) Font from origin 'https://www.apple.com' has been blocked from loading by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://www.apple.com' is therefore not allowed access. (index):1
• (x) XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://www.apple.com/live/countdown.json. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://www.apple.com' is therefore not allowed access. (index):1

Tested with HTTPS Everywhere 2014.8.22 in Chrome for Mac 37.0.2062.94. Temporary plugin deactivation solves the problem.
