Do not check for SSE2 on the Windows installer
Firefox needs SSE2, so we have a check in the installer about it.
But according to this source:
The last version of Windows to not require SSE2 is Windows 7. In March 2018, updates for Windows 7 started requiring SSE2.
We're dropping Windows 7 support in 14.0, so we'll be able to drop the check on it.
To be honest, I think we could entirely drop the check already.
According to Wikipedia, SSE2 was introduced with the Pentium 4 in 2000, and only the following processors released after that don't support it:
- AMD CPUs prior to Athlon 64, such as Athlon XP
- VIA C3
- Transmeta Crusoe
- Intel Quark
I don't think we will have new users with these processors (nor users of not updated Windows, hopefully).
Worst case scenario, the browser won't start and they will get some strange errors (but something tells me this won't be a surprise for them
