Can Firefox's background connections help us detect interference?
Firefox connects to pre-defined URL for testing if it is behind a captive portal. Tor Browser disables that (legacy/trac#21790 (moved)).
Can any of Firefox's background connections be used as a way of probing the local network (or ISP) for network interference? If we use them, how can we blend in with Firefox?
