Use tor as a proxy
So how to use tor as a proxy (meaning browsers traffics othan than Tor Browser go through the tor network)? So I tried to run "%userprofile%\Desktop\Tor Browser\Browser\TorBrowser\Tor\tor.exe" with Command Prompt, with arguments like /help, /h, /?, -help, -h, -? only to get no responce at all.
Okay, so I now figured out how to unblock Lantern VPN, Lantern was unreliable, its connections were often interrupted by the GFW, I used to switch to Tor Browser when Lantern is unable to connect (it shows "Lantern is Connecting" forever), until I get very annoyed, because Tor Browser is also blocked. So I opened %appdata%\Lantern\logs\lantern.log with Notepad++, I studied the logs, I saw a lot recurring web addresses, after I had comprehended the meaning of the logs and, DNS Lookup the web addresses one by one to get IP Addresses, Ping all the resulting addresses to get reachable IP Addresses for each web address respectively, append the accessable IP Addresses and their corresponding web address to %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, and finally ipconfig /release, /ipconfig /all, ipconfig /flushdns, and ipconfig /renew, I have significantly increased the connection success rate of Lantern, and greatly reduced the connecting time, although after a while it stops working, Lantern shows it's still on, not connecting, but I can't access blocked websites anymore, however this is nothing, I can just disconnect and reconnect, and it works fine.
However, I don't know for how long this method will be useful, as the GFW is really good at what it does, so I have an idea: both Lantern and tor can be used for anti-censorship, both Lantern and tor can connect independently, and both of them are decentralized, however Lantern is fast but not as secure as tor, tor is slow but more secure, the IP Addresses of Tor Bridges can be Blackholed, and the tracker? servers that coordinate the Lantern p2p network can be DNS Spoofed——So, what if I use the two together? Not just using them simutaneously, but something new.
What I am going to write may sound crazy, what if I use tor to help Lantern with connection while using Lantern to help tor with connection, like a self-referencing strange loop, what happens then? Let me explain, I want stand-alone tor with obfs4proxy.exe Pluggable Transport, I can get bridges at bridges.torproject.org. I want to know how to config tor to use the bridges. After that, first, run Lantern, after Lantern is connected, second start tor, use Lantern as Socks5 proxy ( I use a proxy to connect to the Internet), and connect to the bridges, now, third, the most interesting part comes, I then will config Lantern to use tor as Socks5 proxy, and reconnect, I will use Lantern as LAN Proxy in Internet Settings in Control Panel, what happens next, I wonder? I haven't tried it yet, because I don't have standalone tor. Will my computer become GFW proof or will it become a paradox and destroy the universe? Please help me find out.
