Presumably this would only affect Mullvad Browser yes?

Yes, as DoH is locked off on Tor Browser and hidden (something I don't necessarily agree with, as I believe we don't cover in our threat/design model, maybe we should start adding issue with everything that is currently lacking).

As far as I understand this bug is about letting ECH work even with DoH disabled, by using the system's own DNS resolver where possible (i.e. Linux, Windows 11 and Android >= 10 - no dice for MacOS X).

Anyway the preference is checked within the normal DNS resolution flow (therefore there shouldn't be DNS leakage suprises), and it's not even enabled on stable releases yet, so nothing to do for now.

Yeah, we also have another issue about ECH without DoH.

It was initially closed in favor of the DoH issue, but since it isn't a requirement anymore I reopened it. Maybe we can do something over Tor.

However, we'll need an investigation (and probably a grant or something similar ).
