For #40830 (closed). Cherry-picked from the mozilla-esr91 branch.

However I noticed that the mozilla-release branch (currently on v98) has a different patch: https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-release/rev/ef9d9b4804f31c7f55401ab50942a331e0c050b5

I'm not sure if we should use that one instead.
