Fix spelling and style in documentation

I have separated these issues into single commits. They are ordered by likeliness of being accepted, i.e. typos in first commit and on top of all style adjustments.

Feel free to squash or cherry pick commits!

I also want to say thank you for the great documentation so far. It really helps to understand how the different codes interact with each other and what their purposes are!
