Safari not working, neither is explorer

When I activate Tor, Safari and Explorer don't seem to work. I don't want Provoxy for my Safari and Explorer browsers, though. I just want Firefox to be guarded by Provoxy. When I go to my network preferences on my computer (mac) to activate Tor i have to set the proxies for my Airport. I just want to know if Provoxy is working and how I can fix this problem I have with my other browsers. Also, how can I create a proxy for my Yahoo! messenger?

Thank You.
