Install mermaid for use in our spec, and add a sequence diagram to the channel negotiation.

I have tried to set up the system so that the website will render right, and we won't force people to have mdbook-mermaid installed locally. (You will need to do cargo install mdbook-mermaid to render diagrams locally`.)

I think this is worth it...
